Marine foam decking price guide: cost per m², what the quote includes and how it compares with natural teak. Real figures to plan your investment.
The first question every owner asks is simple: how much will it cost? The price of a marine foam deck depends on three factors — the surface area in m², the chosen pattern and colour, and the cutting complexity — but it can be estimated fairly accurately. In this guide we give real ranges so you can plan your budget before requesting a quote.
Indicative price per square metre
As a reference, a custom-cut teak-look marine foam deck ranges between €120 and €250 per m², installation not included. The price per m² drops as the order area increases, since the design cost is spread out. A small 4 m² cockpit costs more per metre than a full 25 m² deck.
What the quote includes
- Scale technical design from your measurements or plans (no extra cost).
- Precision CNC cutting of all pieces, numbered.
- The material: certified high-density nautical polyethylene EVA foam.
- Preparation and packaging for shipping. You can do the installation yourself.
How much does it cost by boat type?
| Boat type | Approx. area | Estimated price |
|---|---|---|
| Jet ski (full kit) | — | €300–600 |
| Speedboat cockpit | 4–6 m² | €600–1,200 |
| 10–12 m sailboat, partial deck | 10–14 m² | €1,500–3,000 |
| 14 m yacht, full deck | 20–25 m² | €2,800–5,000 |
Comparison with natural teak
An equivalent natural teak deck for a 12-metre boat costs between €8,000 and €15,000 with labour, plus €300–500 in maintenance each season. Marine foam is typically one-third of that initial investment and eliminates the annual maintenance cost. Over 10 years, the accumulated saving comfortably exceeds the initial cost.
